Allyson moved to Naples from Wisconsin in 2004 after being hired by a local engineering firm. Andy moved to Naples from Pennsylvania a year later after being hired by the same company. They worked together for three years but never really connected as they had different friends and interests at that time in their lives. In March of 2008, both Allyson and Andy agreed to run with a group of total strangers in a 12-man, 180-mile relay running race across the state of Florida from Jensen Beach to Fort Myers… a race they will never forget. They spent 24-hours together and without even trying they fell absolutely head over heels for each other. Over the next few months, life and love worked well for Allyson and Andy. The couple realized that they were inseparable and their relationship continued to grow. Allyson and Andy share a passion for running, cycling, and triathlon. They have competed together and supported one another through several marathons, triathlons, and cycling races. One of their greatest memories is training for and finishing Ironman Florida together in 2011 (okay…so maybe Andy finished ahead of Allyson by an hour or so… but the point is they both finished
Andy gave himself the best birthday gift he could ask for on March 18, 2012… he proposed to Allyson on the podium at the Marco Island Half Marathon in front of hundreds of people… and of course she said yes. The rest is history.
