Mallory and Christian met through a mutual friend whom Christian had been living with at the time. It didn’t take but a day before they exchanged phone numbers and planned to go on their first date in December of 2008. It wasn’t long before Christian officially asked Mallory to be his girlfriend.
Two and a half years later, Christian had bigger plans for the two of them in mind. While they had joked about rings only a couple times, Mallory never took it seriously and was not expecting Christian to pop the big question until she was finished with her nursing school and working. In August of 2011, Christian arranged to have some friends build sandcastles at the beach with one of the sandcastles covering a small wooden box with a ring inside.
Christian pulled Mallory away from her studying to bring her down to watch the sunset and sat near the sandcastles and destroying all but one. Mallory, being the former art student, decided to build onto the lone sandcastle and noticed the box. She thought it was very odd and looked at Christian with the most confused look. Christian told her to open it to see what was inside and saw the ring box. Without even realizing what was happening, Mallory said “oh no! Did we just ruin someone’s proposal??”, to which Christian calmly said, “no, not exactly,” and took the ring box from her hands, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Of course she said yes!
For their ceremony they chose beautiful lawn at the 8th Ave South overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
They got married in front of many friends and family. Both Mallory and Christian wrote their own woes and made a lot of people cry and laugh! Their reception took place at the Players Club of Lely Resort, and it was a party and night to remember for years to come!
