Marco Island Wedding | Kara + Jonathan | Marriott Weddings

The story begins with Kara packing up her things and moving from Boston to Fort Lauderdale for an incredible job opportunity. After six months of settling in and words of encouragement from her Mom, she decided to give online dating a try again. Little did she know that at the same time Jonathan was thinking the same thing. They found each other very quickly and decided to meet for dinner. Both of them were really nervous, mostly Jonathan, but things went amazingly well. It went so well in fact, that Kara invited him out to the beach the very next day to get to know him better. He agreed with great excitement. For over 5 hours the next day, they shared stories of their families, interests, and their passions while walking Fort Lauderdale beach. Over smoothies, they discovered they were both only children and even stranger… that both of their parents were named Joyce and Dave. Very eerie! They continued to date and went on trips to the gulf coast and to New England to introduce each other to their friends and family. After that summer, they both knew for certain they had found someone special. About a year later on a sunny morning, Jonathan proposed to Kara on the same beach they had walked on their second date. When planning their wedding, they knew they wanted to get married at sunset on a beach and Marco Island was the perfect choice after visiting it many times before.
