Caroline and Clay were destined to meet. Caroline grew up in Naples, FL and Clay in Palm Harbor, FL. They both later attended the University of South Florida. It took till Caroline’s junior year and Clay’s sophomore year at USF for them to run in to each other. It all happened when Caroline walked into her dorm one day and saw Clay and a group of people hanging out with her roommate. Clay alleges that when he went to go talk to Caroline she was mad she had to study and slammed the door in his face. (Caroline denies this happened!!) Ok, so their first meeting wasn’t that romantic. Fast forward a year later to where they both unknowingly ended up moving into the same apartment complex. Caroline went to visit a different mutual friend and again when the door was opened there was Clay sitting inside! After talking all evening they started dating a few days later and have been by each other’s side ever since.
The couple chose to get married at the Marco Island Marriott. When Caroline was little, before her family moved to Florida, they used to vacation at the Marco Marriott. When Caroline’s dad got a job offer in Naples they knew they could not say no to a move to their vacation paradise. The hotel, therefore, played a huge role in the destiny story of Caroline and Clay. The location and of course the company of their family and friends created the perfect wedding day!
