Lesley and Jonathan met on a blind date, set up by his aunt and her good friend’s mother. Jonathan was visiting with his aunt one afternoon and she asked her friend if she knew a “nice girl” for this “nice guy”. As it turned out, she did! Although Lesley was hesitant at first when her friend asked her permission to give the “nice guy” her number, it was Jonathan who let a few weeks pass before finally picking up the phone. On October 11, 2011, they had their first date. Jonathan was the perfect gentleman: he picked Lesley up and got out of his car to meet her and open her door. Over sushi, the conversation flowed, they found they had much in common, and she was captivated by his dashing good looks (that dimple especially). But was this “nice guy” TOO nice for Lesley? Jonathan, on the other hand, knew right away that she was the one. It took three more dates and a Thanksgiving weekend apart for Lesley to realize that this was turning into something good, something special. While apart that long weekend (he was visiting his family in New York and she was home in Montreal), the dating duo texted incessantly and spoke on the phone for hours. That was the weekend that Lesley’s mom knew this was it…Jonathan was definitely the one. They fell for each other fast and hard, becoming inseparable after a trip to Florida over the holidays. He proposed on October 24, 2012 after dinner at one of their favorite restaurants, and the rest–as they say–is history…
