Pink Shell Resort Wedding | Melissa + Chris | Fort Myers Beach Weddings

On a hot September evening in 2011, Melissa finally agreed to go on a first date with her now husband, Chris, after meeting and conversing over a dating website. Chris remembers Melissa’s enjoyment of her spending time at her family’s cabin and hobby of fishing. Melissa recalls initially agreeing to continue the conversation with Chris because of the emphasis he put on spending time with his family, including caring for his nieces and nephews. As Melissa and Chris continued to spend time together, they discovered sharing many of the same goals in life. Fast forward four years to January 2015 -after graduate school completion, job changes, and milestone birthdays as well as making it through difficult times together –Chris has finally determined the best place for him to propose! After the initial shock of surprise by Melissa set in, she said “Yes!” Soon after the engagement Melissa and Chris started brainstorming wedding locations. Since one of Melissa’s favorite places to vacation is the Fort Myers area, that idea stuck.

It was another hot day in Fort Myers on April 14^th. But there was a gentle breeze to help cool the wedding party. Greg and Alex took pictures of Melissa and Chris prior to the ceremony. Then it was time for the first look. Chris was able to see his bride in her wedding dress for the first time. Melissa and the dress were stunning. The two connected, hugged, and kissed as they knew it was time for the biggest event in their lives. As the wedding ceremony started, Chris somehow remembered the details of the magical time: A slight breeze fans the wedding party. All of Chris and Melissa’s closest friends and family are there. A group of string instruments are playing in the background. His beautiful wife to be walking the beach towards him makes him smile. After the nervousness leaves the two they are able to recite their personal vows and repeat the vows provided by Chris’s brother in-law, the officiant. They are officially married and the ceremony concludes to a reception.

Pink Shell provided an exquisite dinner as everyone celebrated the happily married couple. Melissa even got to rub cake into Chris’s face. There were toasts made, great conversations, and lively dancing until the wee hours of the night. The couple woke up the next morning, married, and ready to enjoy the rest of their lives together.
