Sandra and Lazaro met in November of 2011. They met the very same way Sandra’s mother and father met 39 years ago. Sandra’s father was a math teacher, and her mother had a younger brother in his class. Sandra was also a math teacher and Lazaro’s younger brother Esteban happened to be in her math class. Esteban always made jokes in class about introducing Sandra to his brother. Esteban was one of the school’s star wrestlers and Sandra had made a comment about wanting to meet the coach. Well it turned out that the head coach of the wrestling team was Esteban’s brother. Soon after hearing the news Sandra dropped by wrestling practice and introductions were made. Lazaro asked Sandra on their first date in November, and by December their new found friendship had turned into a relationship, for which Esteban takes much of the credit. By May, Lazaro had moved in with Sandra and her daughter Taylor and their relationship grew stronger and stronger every day.
In September of 2012 Lazaro took Sandra for a walk and proposed to her while they sat by the edge of the ocean under the stars. Sandra’s parents and sister spent months planning a beautiful wedding in Naples. The couple was married at the Club at the Strand with their amazing family and friends all there to share the incredible day.Â
