Rita knew Joe was something special the day they met in 2012 at a company named Lipari Foods. Joe and Rita quickly became great work friends. A year later Joe finally built up the courage to ask Rita out on a “date”- which also included his friends. Rita calls it their first “friend date” which quickly turned into weekend dates and weekend dates turned into never wanting to be without one another. They both share a love for their dogs and food- after all it began with working together at a food company. After dating for a little over a year, Rita knew Joe was the one and agreed to move in with him downtown Chicago. A few months later before Thanksgiving 2014 right before leaving for Florida Joe gave a romantic proposal to Rita. Joe knew exactly how sweep Rita off her feet along with giving her the most beautiful ring, a custom setting with a diamond heirloom from her Grandmother. Rita was excited to plan their future and said “YES”! A year later almost to the day they got married on November 21st, 2015 in Naples, Florida. The ceremony was romantic and dramatic when the weather decided to take a turn for the worst which made for a moment in Joe’s and Rita’s lives that they will never forget.
